Warrenview Manor
History
In 2002 members of the community recognised a need for sheltered housing in the Muff area. A number of meetings were held and more people came on board and Muff Sheltered Housing Association (MSHA) was formed. It was to be a cross community project for the good of all members of the community.
The MSHA then proceeded to meet with the Irish council of social Housing (ICSH) to see what they had to do to bring the idea to a reality.
In June 2007 MSHA applied to Donegal County Council (D.C.C) for planning permission and held an open day in the Point Lodge showcasing the idea to the community.
MSHA applied to the Department of Environment administered by Donegal County Council for capital funding for the project. The land was bought from Mr Jack Dinsmore who wanted his land to be used for the good of the community.
George Gill and Sons were awarded the contract to build the complex and was finished in late 2008.
The first warden Marion Molloy was appointed in January 2009 and the first residents moved in April 2009.
Warren view Manor was officially opened by the President of Ireland Mary Mc Aleese in June 2010.
